ABOUT OUR PRACTICE
Owen Anderson Psychology is located in Hamilton, South West Victoria. We are a small, private psychology practice with the skills and knowledge required to provide high quality mental health care to the valued members of our rural and remote community including Hamilton, Portland, and surrounding areas. We also provide Telehealth services enabling the provision of psychological support to those residing anywhere within Australia.
At Owen Anderson Psychology, we hold the belief that each person possesses the capacity to live a rewarding and purposeful life. Our commitment lies in supporting our clients with personalized and evidence-based intervention to overcome obstacles and realize their aspirations.
We aim to enhance our clients' understanding of their mental well-being and emotional challenges, while assisting them in using this knowledge to make positive changes in their lives. This often entails recognizing and adjusting unproductive thought patterns, behaviors, and interpersonal dynamics, as well as developing effective coping mechanisms. We also emphasize the importance of psychological testing for children and adolescents to ensure timely access to support, enabling them to realize their full potential.
What We Offer
- Psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention for individuals aged 18yrs+, delivered both in-person and online depending on your preference.
- We accept GP referral's under a Mental Health Care Plan, self-referrals, those with plan-managed or self-managed NDIS packages, aged care packages, and organisational referrals for employees.
- Comprehensive psychological testing and assessment, including for ADHD and Autism Spectrum (children and adolescents only).
- Professional supervision (clinical) for psychologists.
Unfortunately we are not currently accepting referrals for child therapy, relationship/couples counselling and family therapy, eating disorders, forensic issues, and drug and alcohol use disorders.
Our Expertise
Our team includes both a male Registered Psychologist and a female Clinical Psychologist each with over 10 years of experience in public and private mental health. Bryn and Emma have expertise in a variety of areas, including anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, trauma, neurodevelopmental disorders, life stressors, attachment and relational challenges. Our psychologists have extensive experience in working in small communities where there is a need to effectively manage duel-relationships, where privacy and confidentially are essential. Out team is also committed to staying up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in the field of psychology.
